As an affiliate marketer or Internet marketer, why is it important to know how you are unique?
Surely one of the appeals of Internet affiliate marketing is that you can sell products and services remotely without ever meeting your customers.
While that is true, it is also true that the best affiliate marketers understand that their uniqueness can be used to drive more sales.
Affiliate marketers are often competing with hundreds or even thousands of others to try and sell the same products. So finding a way to differentiate yourself from the competition can make a big difference.
Marketing experts know that people prefer to buy from people they know, like and trust. People are attracted to people, especially to people who stand out from the crowd and offer themselves as a unique personality.
So knowing HOW you are unique will help you to put your uniqueness to work for you. It will help you set yourself apart from the competition and draw YOUR people to you.
So I’m glad to see Evan Carmichael has produced a “7 Ways” video on the topic of “how to find out HOW you are unique” and I’d like to share it with you.
#7Ways To Find Out HOW You Are Unique
7 Exact Steps To Find Out HOW You’Are UNIQUE
1) Do the “One Word” exercise
“Your one word” is the single most important thing – your “core value” – the ONE THING that drives you above all others.
Evan believes you have one core value. And when you figure out what it is it will EMPOWER everything you do in your life.
To help you work that out, I recommend Evan’s book, Your One Word, which helped me find my “one word,” which is #InspiredFocus.
Better than a thousand hollow words, is one word. – Buddha.
Here’s something that will help you find our how you are unique – quote from Your One Word follows:
“There is One Word that defines who you are. There is One Word that connects all the things in your life that makes you come alive. Think about the friends you have, the music you listen to, the books you read, the movies you watch, the companies you’ve worked for, the businesses you’ve started. Think about everything in your life right now that you enjoy.
“They are all connected.
“Until you figure out what that connection is, you’ll never live up to your potential.”
Evan Carmichael, Your One Word, pgs 8-9
2) Break down your Credo
Your credo is a three-part breakdown of what your one word means to you. Your three-part credo will give you clarity.
Evan explains what this is about 2 minutes 27 seconds into the video.
3) Find your purpose
Your purpose comes from your pain. Having gone through that enables you to help others who are currently going through the same thing. And helping those people gives you your purpose.
Check this section of the video out from 4:27.
4) Who you serve
Understanding how you are wired shows you who you can best serve. Either you want to serve the world and you have a BIG mission. Or you want to serve those who are close to you and you have a precisely targeted mission.
Evan explains what this means for himself and his wife, Nina, at 5:25 on the video.
5) How you can serve
Once you know who you serve, your next concern is HOW you can serve them best. What is the process that you most enjoy doing? Understanding that will help you to win on a big scale because you’ll love the “how” as well as the “why” and the “who”.
Evan talks about this from 6:51 on the video.
6) What is your learning/sharing style
What kind of learner are you? Visual, auditory, or kinesthetic (tactile) learning?
It’s important to know so that you can tap into your most efficient way of learning and communicating, as Evan explains from 8.12.
7) Take the 16 Personalities test
From 10:04 on the video Evan talks about the 16 Personalities Test offered by 16Personalities.com which will help you break down your personality and offer you a way to understand what makes you unique and what strengths to go with.
